Scrapio ("Scrapio", "we", "us") operates an online marketplace that connects scrap sellers with verified scrap buyers in India. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and the choices you have. It is written in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

1. Information we collect

Registration details: your name, company name, mobile number, email address, GST number and type of business.
Account details: your username and password (stored only in encrypted/hashed form).
Verification documents: KYC or business documents our team may request to verify your account.
Transaction details: listings, bids, orders, pickup, weighment and invoice records.
Technical data: IP address, browser type and basic logs needed to keep the service secure.

2. How we use your information

To create, verify and manage your account.
To show your listings or requirements to the relevant verified buyers or sellers.
To process bids, payments, pickups and GST invoices.
To contact you by email, SMS or phone about your account and transactions.
To prevent fraud, meet legal and tax obligations and resolve disputes.

3. When we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

The buyer or seller you are trading with, to the extent needed to complete the deal.
Service providers that help us run Scrapio (hosting, payments, SMS and email), under confidentiality obligations.
Government or law-enforcement authorities when required by law.

4. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and afterwards only for as long as required by law (for example, tax and GST record-keeping rules).

5. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and restricted access to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so please keep your login credentials private.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or update your information, withdraw consent, or delete your account, subject to legal record-keeping requirements. You may also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies and browser storage needed for login and to carry your registration details between onboarding pages. We do not use advertising cookies.
